Avid4 Adventure summer camp scholarships help kids learn skills and gain confidence through unique outdoor adventures

Written by Emily Moeschler | April 24, 2018

April 24, 2018 (Boulder, CO) – Avid4 Adventure, an outdoor adventure camp for kids is extending its 2018 season financial assistance deadline to May 20, 2018.

Avid4 Adventure empowers kids to choose active, outdoor lifestyles by offering summer camp financial assistance for low and middle income families. Campers are eligible to apply for financial assistance for day and overnight camps if their family’s household income is less than $100,000.

“We’re extending our financial assistance deadline for the 2018 summer season so more low-income campers can enjoy the thrill of outdoor adventure,” said Ileana Street, SVP of Marketing at Avid4 Adventure.

For the extended deadline, Avid will provide a 25 to 50 percent discount on camp tuition, with specific amounts determined on a case-by-case basis. If selected, campers will be assigned a specific date, so flexibility with summer schedules is important. Campers should not register for camp prior to receiving an award notice since scholarships can’t be retroactively applied. Awards will be announced on May 30, 2018.

A committee will meet to review applications and make awards until all funds are disbursed. Financial assistance will be awarded based on diversity to broaden the diversity of life experiences of Avid campers; economic need that includes family size, income and/or extenuating circumstances; motivation to attend and learn, as evidenced by a written statement from campers and their parents; and the availability of scholarship funding.

Generous families and partners make Avid’s financial assistance program possible and Avid matches donations 100 percent. To contribute, either:

  • Add a donation amount to your next camp registration
  • Visit the American Camp Association Website and enter “Avid4 Adventure” as the camp you’re donating to
  • Send a check to ACA – Avid4 Adventure Campership Fund, 3200 Carbon Place, Boulder, CO 80302

"Olive came home after 5 days at CMC and was truly a different child. Her confidence and maturity was unbelievable....Additionally, I would not have been able to send Olive to Avid4 without the generous scholarship made available to our family and Olive would never have gotten this experience...I am very grateful to Avid4 and to those who donate making financial support to families possible. Avid4 is a tremendous program and is directly impacting my child’s life and my family."    - Olive's Parent
